Self-Defense: Critical Differences Between Krav Maga & BJJ

I’ve been training in martial arts since I was 15 and have earned a black belt in Krav Maga and a brown belt in BJJ. Self-defense has been a huge part of my life—both as a student and a teacher. I've had the privilege of training with some of the best in the industry, including military and law enforcement, and I’ve taught countless civilians. One thing I admire about the best instructors is their willingness to ask tough questions: Would this really work? Is it realistic? Can anyone pull it off?

This mindset has shaped me into a critical thinker when it comes to self-defense. In today’s episode, I’m introducing a much larger discussion about the key differences between systems like Krav Maga and BJJ—especially for women. This is a topic I’ll be revisiting often, both on my own and with expert guests weighing in.
